The limits of the API RP 9B standard method were implemented from 1997-9-1 in 1996

Lift wire rope and other ropes
10.6.1 all hoisting cable should be in use at least once a day during the visual inspection, hoisting cable should be thoroughly checked once a month, to do after each inspection records, and indicate the defects of the every note 1). For use, protection and use of wire ropes, see API RP 9B (find out the latest version).
10.6.2 when one of the following situations occurs, the hoisting of the wire rope shall not continue to be used:
A) there are 3 broken wires in a new middle of 6 * 7 wire rope;
B) the rope structure of the other 6 and 8;
1) six randomly distributed broken wires were found in a new rope.
2) there are three broken strands in one of the new ropes.
C) anti-roll structure:
1) four randomly distributed broken wires were found in a new rope.
2) there are two broken strands in one of the new ropes.
10.6.3 as a wire rope with fixed rope, such as taut rope, exit rope, suspension rope, etc., if any of the following situations are found to be unfavorable to continue to use:
A) there are three broken strands in a new rope.
B) two broken wires were found in the rope groove of the end connection.
Other conditions of the wire rope can not be used as follows:
A) corrosion marks.
B) the supplier shall have a steel wire that is corroded.
C) part of the junction is corroded, cracked, bent, worn or improperly used.
D) found obvious twisted, extruded, incisional, cold deformation or birdcage.
10.6.4 when the hoisting rope is attached to the winch drum, its end shall be firmly fixed. Keep a sufficient amount of wire rope on the roller to avoid excessive force.
10.6.5 the structure, installation and maintenance of the wire rope dead rope anchor shall be equal to or exceed the working strength of the hoisting wire rope.
10.6.6km calculation indicates that the working cycle of lifting the wire rope has arrived, or the breakage of the wire rope is detected by visual inspection, and the rope should be taken immediately, the cutting measures or replacing it. A 1000 kn calculation program can be used to see the API RP 9B (find out the latest version) or the manufacturer's truncation specification.
10.6.7 the lifting of the steel wire in the carrying capacity of the movement shall not touch any part of the derrick or other fixed equipment.
10.6.8 when the travelling pulley is taken to the rig or suspended by another cable or chain, it is not suitable to remove the hoisting rope from the roller.
